1. If I have a billing question, what number should I call?
ANSWER: If you have any questions about this information, please feel free to speak with one of the financial coordinators or contact patient financial services by calling 913-890-2531.
2. Can I receive a bill for services even if I have insurance?
ANSWER: I understand that possession of medical insurance does not relieve me of financial responsibility to Mercer Allergy & Pulmonary Associates, LLC. I will personally be responsible for all charges for services that are not covered by my insurance carrier.
3. Do I need a referral to be seen?
ANSWER: I understand that my insurance carrier may require I have a referral to be seen, that pre-certifications to receive services or authorizations may be required and that I shall be solely responsible to obtain required approvals and referrals PRIOR TO RECEIVING CARE. I understand that if I do not have or obtain necessary referrals, authorizations or fail to notify immediately my insurance company of any hospital admissions or non-routine care may result in me being responsible for payment for those services.
4. What is the practice policy on missed appointments?
ANSWER: I understand that Mercer Allergy & Pulmonary Associates, LLC will charge a $70.00 missed appointment fee (established patients) and a $100.00 fee (new patients) who fail to give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation. I understand that I will personally pay the fee for appointments missed where I neglected to notify the practice in a timely manner. Missing appointments may lead to termination as a patient from the practice.
5. How do I obtain prescription refills?
ANSWER: Prescription refill management process of Mercer Allergy & Pulmonary Associates, LLC requires accuracy, efficiency, patient access to the process, communication between clinic and pharmacy, decision making by clinical staff, patient notification and medical record documentation. These elements are done best when patients contact the pharmacy or mail order program where their initial prescription of medication needing a refill was handled.
